Davis County Clearfield/North Branch Library
Davis County | Clearfield, Utah
The Davis County North Branch Library is a new model and vision for libraries in Davis County. The library offers a community gathering space, a place to connect as an internet and technology services hub, and numerous spaces that give life and movement to learning. The new design and approach to operations is very different from the hushed atmosphere of traditional libraries.
As the electrical engineering, acoustical, and lighting consultant for the design team, Envision’s expertise to provide the electrical and communications infrastructure to support this new vision was vital. Acoustical engineering expertise was brought to fruition to create a vibrant learning space without distractions. According to an article in Utah Construction and Design (Nov. 2022), “[a] librarian even mentioned how the acoustics are so good in the community room that it has never required a microphone for programming since the library opened last year—not even for a recent activity with 63 participants.”
The library is a central attraction to Clearfield City’s newly re-imagined downtown area; and Envision coordinated closely with the design team and the City’s master planners to successfully implement the goals for this important community project.
