Rio Grande District Master Plan

Salt Lake City RDA | Salt Lake City, Utah

Envision Engineering is providing comprehensive electrical engineering master planning services for the Rio Grande District, covering the area from 400 South to 200 South and 500 West to 600 West streets. This initiative aims to support the district's revitalization efforts and accommodate future mixed-use developments with robust and efficient infrastructure.

Building on previous services, Envision has provided master planning services to address telecommunications, power distribution, and street lighting for the district. This included creating a framework for the installation and integration of modern electrical systems that support the area's growth and transformation.

Envision closely coordinated with Rocky Mountain Power (RMP) and provided projected load data based on various mixed-use development scenarios, enabling RMP to conduct a comprehensive load study. This study was crucial for identifying the impacts on the existing RMP system and determining the power requirements necessary to support future development.

Envision also developed preliminary streetscape lighting concepts for the core streets within the Rio Grande District. These concepts aimed to enhance the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of the streets, contributing to the overall vision of a vibrant and welcoming urban environment.

The electrical engineering master planning services provided by Envision Engineering are foundational to the sustainable growth and development of the Rio Grande District. By addressing the essential infrastructure needs and coordinating with key stakeholders, Envision Engineering is helping to lay the groundwork for a revitalized urban area that can support diverse uses. This electrical engineering and street lighting strategic planning effort not only prepares the district for future developments but also ensures infrastructure that can handle increased demand, thereby fostering a thriving, well-connected, and energy-efficient community.
